LPN -PART TIME

STATUS:                                  Non-Exempt, hourly, part-time, less than 30 hours

REPORTS TO:                         Director of Health Services

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Charge Nurse is an RN/LPN who is responsible for the overall nursing care/service on his/her shift, including the accurate and timely administration of medications, treatments, documentation and emergency calls, as indicated.  All job duties are to be performed in accordance with established standards as described in the Quality Assurance Manual for the department.

Primary Job Duties:

-Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.

-Administers direct care as necessary.

-Gives and receives shift reports.

-Rounds twice a shift to assure proper care is rendered in a safe and clean environment.

-Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident’s condition.

-Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.

-Maintains the self respect, personal dignity, and physical safety of each resident.

-Maintains accurate documentation of all care rendered.

-Responds to resident emergency call system.

-Interfaces with other disciplines to assure continuity of care and services.

-Receives, transcribes and checks physician orders in the past 48 hours. 

-Accompanies physicians when making rounds.

-Encourages restorative care in order to obtain maximum resident independence.

-Participates in family/resident counseling as necessary.

-Assists DOHS with GNA employee Evaluations.

-Assists with EMR education and checks EMR documentation from GNA’s twice a shift.

PRN: $29/hr - $34/hr (LPN with more than 2 years experience in LTC/Senior living environment) $29/hr for new grad (less than 1 year experience

Skills Required

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential
  • Ability to accurately and timely administer medications and treatments
  • Experience with documentation and EMR use; ability to check EMR documentation
  • Ability to supervise nursing personnel and direct resident care on shift
  • Ability to receive, transcribe, and check physician orders within 48 hours and accompany physicians on rounds
  • Experience in long-term care / senior living environment
  • Availability for part-time schedule (non-exempt, less than 30 hours) and assigned shift coverage
