Qualifications 

POSITION SUMMARY 

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all logistics, dispatch, and distribution operations at our seafood processing and distribution facility. This role is critical to ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of perishable seafood products to our customers. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in food distribution logistics and possesses strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Logistics & Operations Management 

  • Supervise daily logistics operations including inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and cold-chain transfers 

  • Coordinate with the processing team to align production schedules with distribution timelines 

  • Monitor and optimize routing, load planning, and fleet utilization to reduce costs and transit times 

  • Ensure all outbound shipments meet food safety, temperature control, and regulatory standards (HACCP, FDA, USDA) 

  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory movements, and carrier performance 

Dispatch Operations 

  • Manage daily dispatch activities, including driver assignments, route sheets, and load confirmations 

  • Communicate real-time delivery updates, resolve exceptions, and coordinate re-routing as needed 

  • Maintain driver compliance records including HOS (Hours of Service), DOT regulations, and vehicle inspection logs 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers 

  • Respond to urgent dispatch needs outside normal business hours when required 

Team Leadership & Communication 

  • Supervise a team of drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse logistics staff 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement 

  • Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and scheduling logistics personnel 

Customer & Vendor Relations 

  • Coordinate delivery schedules and resolve service issues with customers and retail/wholesale accounts 

  • Communicate with seafood vendors, freight brokers, and cold storage partners to manage inbound logistics 

  • Investigate and resolve delivery discrepancies, claims, and customer complaints in a timely manner 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of logistics or supply chain experience in a food distribution environment (seafood, meat, produce, or dairy preferred) 

  • Demonstrated dispatching experience, including route planning and real-time driver communication 

  • Strong knowledge of cold-chain logistics, temperature-controlled transportation, and food safety regulations 

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, driver hours of service, and fleet compliance requirements 

  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), route optimization software, or dispatch platforms 

  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment 

  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse, bilingual workforce 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish — both written and verbal (preferred) 

  • Experience in seafood or perishable protein distribution specifically 

  • Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, or other food safety management certifications 

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field 

  • Experience with ERP or WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) 

  • FMCSA/DOT compliance training or certification 


WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Work is performed in a distribution/processing facility environment including refrigerated and frozen areas 

  • Early morning, evening, and weekend hours may be required based on operational needs 

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and work in cold environments for extended periods 

  • Occasional local travel to customer sites or carrier locations may be required 


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000.00 / Year
