JOB SUMMARY:
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for supporting the design, development and maintenance of the Oshkosh logistics system. Development, implementation, and support of logistics routings, consolidating freight and providing system metrics are main responsibilities of this role to support Oshkosh Corporation’s requirements. In addition, the Logistics Specialist will develop routings for both inbound material as well as finished goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Schedule, cover, dispatch and trace freight either inbound or outbound; including expedites; escalation support for complex issues.
- Monitor routes/lanes/shipments for compliance and conformance by service providers.
- Communicate with carriers on performance and opportunities.
- Create and maintain strong working relationships with carriers.
- Implement and maintain Long-Term Agreements with carrier partners.
- Development of requirements, process improvements, quote packages, data gathering, evaluation and analysis of bid packages.
- Negotiate lane bids and other sourcing initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the Oshkosh Logistics freight system and how it works.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with three (3) or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a relative area.
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Logistics experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional follow through and attention to detail.
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills, able to multi-task and prioritize competing requirements and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements are constantly changing.
- Experience with various web-based software applications including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.
- Occasional travel may be required; typically less than 10%.
