Logistics Specialist

KBR’s Mission Engineering Division delivers complex technical solutions and expert support to the U.S. Department of War, specializing in modeling and simulation, cyber transformation, air vehicle mission integration, and lifecycle support. As a trusted partner with a proven history in mission technology, KBR collaborates closely with clients to develop innovative and effective solutions. With a strong ethical framework, KBR prioritizes data security, privacy, and responsible information management to ensure mission success.

The Logistics Specialist serves as a critical on-site resource supporting the Surface Warfare Schools Command (SWSC) N79 Damage Control Firefighting Directorate and other SWSC directorates in the San Diego. This role is responsible for procuring essential training resources by reviewing and processing Purchase Requests (PRs), tracking funding documentation, and ensuring requests align with established supply guidelines. You will optimize resource allocation through inventory, supply, and financial analyses and provide data-driven recommendations that help sustain training execution and Fleet readiness.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide direct logistics, supply, and financial training requirements support for SWSC N79 and the San Diego region schoolhouse/courses of instruction.
  • Review funding request documents, track their progress between SWSC N79 and NAVFAC, and maintain clear status visibility for stakeholders.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate supply and material flow, including inventory storage and movement from supplier to customer to meet required timelines and specifications.
  • Prepare, submit, process, and track procurement requests and purchases, ensuring accuracy and completeness throughout the lifecycle.
  • Validate Purchase Requests (PRs) for compliance with Supply Center guidelines prior to submission and follow-through.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met and logistics support aligns with training demand.
  • Interface with outside vendors to obtain quotes and coordinate delivery of required inventory; coordinate with customs agencies as needed in the absence of a dedicated Import/Export Specialist.
  • Prepare logistics support documentation and source data (e.g., logistics support plans, user support summaries, post-production support plans, and implementation plans) to support operational needs.
  • Implement and maintain logistics plans, databases, and support files to support fielding of new systems or major modifications; apply logistics principles to specialized solutions and lead execution within the logistics discipline.
  • Attend N8 departmental meetings and training as required and perform other duties that support or improve N8 Department execution in support of the N78 Directorate.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain).
  • High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 6 years of experience in DoD logistics or supply management.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing, reviewing, processing, and tracking procurement requests/purchases, including ensuring PRs align with established guidelines prior to submission.
  • Experience planning and coordinating supply/material flow, inventory handling, and delivery coordination to meet schedule and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (e.g., Business Management, Business Administration, or Accounting)
  • Experience navigating Navy supply/procurement research websites and tools (e.g., One Touch Support, FEDMALL, PIEE, GSA Advantage, IGC, etc.).
  • Understanding of the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program and processes.
  • Familiarity with DoD governing instructions, publications, notices, messages, and memorandums.
  • Experience in a military or educational setting and familiarity with Surface Warfare Officers School operations or similar training institutions.

Basic Compensation: $76,000-$114,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.
