Summary of Position 

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of products, managing supplier relationships, and driving process improvements. This role involves conducting transportation planning activities, including capacity planning, shipment planning, carrier selection, scheduling, and load building. The specialist communicates directly with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues related to shipping, visibility, and costing. Additionally, they maintain data integrity, provide support to the Supply Chain team, and contribute to strategic initiatives such as cost reduction and supplier management. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Transportation Planning and Execution: Conduct transportation booking activities, complete shipping documentation, and coordinate with site logistics to execute shipments and gather necessary documentation. 
  • Shipment Tracking and Issue Resolution: Track and monitor shipments, resolve exceptions as they arise, and ensure on-time delivery throughout the logistics process. 
  • Data Management and KPI Monitoring: Maintain data integrity in systems like DOMO, ensuring accurate reporting of active and previous shipments. Monitor KPIs to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Supplier Management and Relationship Building: Develop and maintain close relationships with logistics providers, provide feedback, and contribute to business review presentations. 
  • Cost Management and Process Improvement: Identify frequency and cause of service failures, develop plans to address these issues, and drive process improvements in supplier management and data analytics. 
  • Compliance and Auditing: Perform first-level audits of freight quotations and invoices and provide accounting with end-of-period documentation for auditors. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between shippers/recipients and external logistics providers, providing quotes, arranging freight, communicating logistics protocols, and providing instructions to customers and logistics partners. 
  • Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate on cost modeling, participate in RFX processes, and support enterprise priorities related to health equity and compliance.

Qualifications Expected for Position

  • Executes the timely delivery of goods and documents, requiring accuracy, understanding, and concise proof-reading to support the delivery of goods to the destinations successfully.  
  • 3+ years’ experience in one or a combination of the following: logistics, trade compliance, supply chain, or related field.   
  • 2+ years of International Logistics and Import/Export experience dealing with customs, freight forwarders, and import/export transactions.   
  • Carrier experience: working directly with major carriers such as DHL, FedEx, and UPS.   
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn transportation management software.
  • Experience in logistics, trade compliance, supply chain, or a related field, with experience in international logistics and import/export transactions dealing with customs, freight forwarders, and import/export transactions, highly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills, flexibility in adapting to process changes, availability to accommodate different time zones, and excellent collaboration skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders.

The base salary range for this position is $65,000- $75,000In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here Teladoc Health Benefits 2025. Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications. This information is applicable for all full-time positions.
