Job Description
Summary
The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the logistics process to meet all necessary requirements including government contracts related paperwork, expediting, and coordinating shipments based on customers needs. In this role, the Logistics Specialist will closely collaborate with internal departments of Program Management, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality. As primary logistics point of contact you will address all logistics status needs to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of shipments and on-time-delivery to customers, prioritizing request to meet critical deadlines and program timelines.
- Engage daily with a variety of customers, maintaining a high levels of service and responsiveness to address inquiries, provide updates, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that all logistics operations comply with government and industry standards. This includes maintaining knowledge of FAR regulations.
- Ensure alignment with program requirements and objectives by fulfilling their daily logistics requests.
- Effectively manage and prioritize logistics tasks per customer needs in a complex and dynamic environment, supporting the needs of multiple programs.
- Work closely with program managements, planners, supply chain and quality teams to coordinate logistics activities and support program goals.
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management within regulated environment (aerospace, defense)
- Knowledge of FAR and other relevant compliance requirements.
- Experience working with government contracts or defense-related programs.
- Proven experience in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain software systems (Oracle)
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
- Certified Professional Logistician (CPL) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
- Familiarity with export compliance and international shipping regulations.
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
- Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
- Has effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and office environment (Constant)
- Required to sit and stand for long periods (Frequent); talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
Special Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
- Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.
The salary range for this role is:
$71,704 - $101,640

This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants must qualify as a U.S. person under the ITAR and the EAR, or a person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on AeroVironment’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with AeroVironment’s business requirements.
