The Role

Background & Purpose of the Job
As a Logistics Process Specialist, you will be responsible for executing current logistics workflows while collaborating with the broader Logistics team to drive automation and improve the freight payment process. The initial focus will be on learning and managing the North America invoice processing for CASS shipments, as well as any other freight audit and payment technologies currently in use.
You will oversee carrier billing portfolios, identify system inefficiencies, and support process optimization. Over time, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, eliminate manual touchpoints, and become the subject matter expert for the entire freight payment ecosystem. This role requires close coordination with multiple internal departments and external partners to ensure efficient and seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Process invoices for a designated carrier portfolio within the CASS system and other freight audit and payment (FAP) technologies.
• Manage carrier billing relationships to ensure accuracy, timely resolution of issues, and strong communication.
• Support exception handling and correction for all carrier invoices received.
• Identify and recommend process and system efficiencies and best practices—both in external workflows and in the use of Unilever’s FAP systems.
• Develop strategies to eliminate manual processing within FAP and drive automation.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for our FAP processes and systems, including reporting, system utilization, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize freight payment processes and support broader logistics initiatives.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
• You’re a natural leader – You inspire collaboration and accountability across teams, even when they don’t report directly to you. You’re confident in having tough conversations when needed and equally committed to celebrating wins and supporting the growth of colleagues and business partners.
• You’re a connector of dots – You thrive in complexity, identifying patterns and building clear, repeatable processes. You translate ambiguity into actionable workflows and communicate them effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• You’re driven to win—and enjoy the journey – You bring creativity, resilience, and a positive attitude to every challenge. Your ability to stay composed and solution-focused makes you someone others want to work with and learn from.
• You’re a changemaker – You embrace innovation and continuously seek better ways to work. You champion new technologies and process improvements, influencing others to adopt change while empowering them to make it their own.
Desired Qualifications
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to identify patterns and use insights to drive process improvements.
• Quick learner with the ability to grasp complex concepts and apply knowledge effectively.
• Experience with SAP, OTM, CASS, and other freight audit and payment (FAP) systems and processes is a plus.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight audit, logistics bill payment, transportation operations, or related logistics functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or another relevant discipline.
