Requirements:
- 1+ years of experience in third-party logistics or transportation operations
- Strong understanding of freight operations and the shipment lifecycle
- Experience coordinating shipments, working with carriers, and communicating with customers
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and follow-up skills
- Experience using transportation management systems, load boards, tracking platforms, and carrier portals
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service
Responsibilities:
- Manage shipments from initial booking through final delivery
- Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments with customers, carriers, shippers, and receivers
- Source, evaluate, and select qualified carriers based on service requirements, availability, and pricing
- Negotiate carrier rates while supporting company margin and service expectations
- Track shipments and provide customers with timely and accurate updates
- Proactively identify potential service disruptions and take action to minimize delays
- Resolve operational issues, including missed appointments, delays, damages, shortages, and other shipment exceptions
- Verify shipment details, carrier documentation, and load information for accuracy
- Maintain complete and accurate shipment records within the transportation management system
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and internal team members
- Partner with accounting to resolve billing discrepancies, accessorial charges, and documentation issues
- Ensure carriers and shipments meet company vetting, safety, and compliance standards
- Support internal teams with operational needs and customized transportation solutions
