Hello #TruccoPeople!
Trucco is a family-owned importer and nationwide distributor of fresh produce, dried fruits and nuts. Founded in 1937 and headquartered at the Hunts Point Terminal Market (Bronx, NY), we operate a 200,000 sq. ft. distribution center in Vineland, NJ. Our programs include kiwifruit, citrus, grapes, chestnuts and more, sourced worldwide for year-round supply. Trucco is part of Orsero Group, one of Europe's leading fresh produce distributors.
The role
As our retail business grows across the country, we are adding a Logistics Manager to own how our product gets to our customers. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will run outbound logistics for all retail account orders, getting fresh product to customers on time, at the right temperature and at the right cost. You will work closely with our Vineland operations team, our 3PL partners in California and Georgia, and our Account Coordinators.

What you'll do
• Own retail order logistics. Plan and schedule outbound shipments for all retail account orders, book delivery appointments and follow each retailer's routing and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate outbound shipping. Work with Vineland operations and our 3PL partners on pick and load timing, and keep Account Coordinators updated on ship dates, delays and delivery issues.
• Reduce freight costs. Consolidate orders headed to similar locations into multi-stop loads, plan efficient routes, and report freight spend and on-time performance to leadership.
• Manage carrier relationships. Build a reliable network of refrigerated carriers and brokers, track on-time and temperature performance, and resolve freight claims.
• Negotiate rates. Negotiate contract and spot rates, run lane bids and secure capacity ahead of peak seasons.
• Leverage 3PL options. Evaluate and manage 3PL and brokerage partners where they lower cost or add capacity.

Requirements

• 5+ years in transportation or logistics management, including at least 2 years leading outbound freight.
• Experience shipping refrigerated or perishable product, ideally produce, to retail distribution centers.
• Proven track record of negotiating carrier rates and reducing freight costs through load consolidation and route planning.
• Experience working with carriers, brokers and 3PLs; TMS experience preferred.
• Strong Excel skills; organized and calm when trucks, schedules and orders change fast.
• Nice to have: knowledge of FSMA sanitary transportation rules and cold chain best practices.

Benefits

• Base salary of $130,000 – $150,000 per year;
• Health, dental and vision insurance;
• 401(k);
• Paid time off;
• The stability of a family-owned company with nearly 90 years in produce, backed by an international group.
