Logistics Engineer III

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Logistician to support a new program based in Yokohama, Japan. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant material support for systems preparing for deployment or undergoing maintenance. The Logistician will manage warehouse inventory, oversee PHS&T activities, coordinate provisioning actions, and work directly with vendors and subcontractors to repair or replace parts.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing all warehouse inventory activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking materials and components
• Planning and executing Packing, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) tasks to ensure safe and compliant movement of equipment and parts
• Supporting provisioning by identifying required parts, maintaining material availability, and coordinating supply actions for systems going underway
• Interfacing with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to coordinate repairs, replacements, and material returns
• Maintaining accurate documentation, material records, and system updates within logistics databases and ERP/WMS systems
• Supporting forecasting, demand planning, and replenishment strategies
• Ensuring compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory requirements
• Providing on-site logistics support in a warehouse/industrial environment

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related discipline
• Three plus years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, or warehouse management
• Experience with inventory control systems and warehouse processes
• Ability to coordinate packing, handling, storage, and transportation (PHS&T) activities
• Familiarity with provisioning processes for technical systems or equipment
• Experience working with vendors, subcontractors, and repair facilities
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Proficiency with standard logistics software platforms (CMPRO, NERP, etc.)
• Eligibility to work in Japan (existing visa or ability to be sponsored)

• Experience supporting defense, maritime, or technical system programs
• Knowledge of U.S. Government or DoD logistics processes
• Familiarity with export/import documentation and compliance requirements
• Strong understanding of material lifecycle management and supply pipeline processes
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOMs, maintenance requirements, and part specs
• Experience with vendor performance tracking and supplier quality management
• Lean or Six Sigma certification
• Ability to work independently in a remote or distributed team environment
