We are hiring for a highly organized and customer-focused Logistics Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Logistics Department. This role is responsible for coordinating the efficient movement of material handling equipment, parts, and related materials across our branch network while ensuring exceptional service for both internal and external customers.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound transportation activities across all Pengate branch locations.
  • Schedule equipment deliveries, pickups, transfers, and customer shipments while maximizing transportation efficiency.
  • Monitor shipments from dispatch through final delivery, proactively communicating status updates, delays, and changes.
  • Coordinate daily transportation schedules utilizing company drivers and third-party carriers.
  • Source and secure competitive freight rates when outside transportation is required.
  • Work closely with Service, Sales, Parts, Operations, and branch personnel to prioritize transportation needs.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, delivery paperwork, permits, and transportation records.
  • Ensure transportation activities comply with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Resolve transportation issues including scheduling conflicts, delivery discrepancies, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Track transportation metrics and maintain accurate operational records and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, increase efficiency, and reduce transportation costs.
  • Build strong partnerships across departments while providing outstanding customer service.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 1–3 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation operations, dispatching, fleet management, supply chain, or a related operational support role preferred.
  • Experience coordinating deliveries, scheduling transportation, or managing freight movement in a service-oriented environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with transportation carriers, route planning, equipment scheduling, or fleet operations is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Ability to continuously communicate effectively in person and by phone.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
