Vast is looking for a Logistics Coordinator, reporting to the Manager, Logistics, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.This is a hands-on role with a ground-floor opportunity to be deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations working alongside teams to keep hardware, materials and information moving. 

This will be a full-time, non- exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of aerospace parts, assemblies, tooling, equipment, and marketing materials.
  • Schedule domestic and international freight with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Physically package, palletize, label and prepare shipments for various methods of transportation
  • Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure shipments comply with ITAR, EAR, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Track shipments and communicate delivery status while resolving transportation issues as they arise.
  • Support manufacturing schedules by ensuring materials are received and delivered on time.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal teams to coordinate material movement and support customer delivery requirements.
  • Perform hands-on receiving activities, including physically verifying incoming materials against purchase orders and packing documentation.
  • Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor).
  • Deliveries: Utilize company vehicle to make deliveries and pick up materials from local suppliers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Hazardous materials shipping certification (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG).
  • Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Import/Export experience with ITAR regulations
  • Import/Export regulatory functions experience, including HTS, Schedule B knowledge, IncotermsExperience working with NVOs, ocean carriers, drayage companies, freight forwarders, and customs house brokerage firms.
  • Experience using barcode scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control software.
  • Experience operating forklifts, Stand-Up Reach, pallet jack and all associated dock equipment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time
  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
  • Specific certifications, as appropriate

$21$33 USD

U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS
The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
