Position Overview 

At Select Milk Producers, we rely heavily on our Logistic Coordinators as they are the company’s primary contact with our producers, customers, and haulers. Our Coordinators build and maintain positive relationships with our producers and customers and are responsible for scheduling, documenting, and reporting the movement of milk from our producer’s dairies to our various customers. We are looking for a competent Logistics Coordinator to optimize shipping and transportation processes to effectively achieve our distribution goals, cultivating a culture of Continuous Improvement by delivering continuously improving results and satisfaction for customers, consumers and suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Communicate with producers, customers, and haulers as their main point of contact for logistical activities.

  • Utilize Logistics IT systems, to maintain records of all producer’s dairy production.

  • Submit pickup schedules to haulers and daily receiving reports to the Greater Southwest Agency and customers.

  • Maintain and assure that customers receive milk as ordered by accurate record keeping.

  • Assist in balancing and locating missing records between producers and customers.

  • Resolve issues that may occur within transportation from our producers to customer.

  • Some weekend work and “On Call” status is required as part of a normal rotating shift for this position.

  • Provide accurate month-end reports to our logistics and finance teams.

  • Maintain supply inventories at producer dairies and Select Milk Producers.

  • Facilitate distribution of supplies to producers.

  • Assume other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Must be computer savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, including in Excel.

  • Must have advanced problem-solving skills and crisis management; able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse business community.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, and write routine reports and correspondence. 

  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.

  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently.

  • Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.

  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school degree required, Associates degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years of previous supply chain/logistics experience; dairy preferred.

  • Experience interacting with customers and/or suppliers required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must successfully complete pre-employment drug test and a background check.

  • Must have proof of legal authorization to work in USA.

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and demonstrate manual dexterity while performing job duties.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, see, and hear; use hands to handle objects, and reach with hands and arms.

  • Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time, paying attention to detail.

  • Requires constant operation of standard office machines, including computer.

  • Requires frequent ability to move freely about the office building.

Environment

  • Environment involved is regularly inside the office.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
