The Logistics and Trade Assistant will support the coordination and execution of international trade and logistics operations by assisting with shipment documentation, customs processes, inventory tracking, and stakeholder communication. Working closely with the operations and logistics teams, the Assistant will help ensure the timely and compliant movement of goods while maintaining accurate trade records and supporting efficient supply chain operations. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals with 0–2 years of relevant experience who are detail-oriented, organized, and interested in building a career in international trade, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Assist in preparing and processing import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping documents, and customs paperwork.
- Track inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery and provide regular status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping agents, and customers to facilitate smooth import and export operations.
- Support customs clearance activities by ensuring compliance with applicable trade regulations, documentation requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, shipment logs, and trade documentation to support operational efficiency and audit readiness.
- Monitor logistics and transportation activities, identify discrepancies or delays, and escalate issues for timely resolution.
- Assist in coordinating warehouse receiving, loading, unloading, and dispatch activities to ensure efficient movement of goods.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic records of import and export transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Provide administrative support through data entry, report preparation, and maintenance of logistics and trade databases.
- Assist in resolving shipment, documentation, and logistics issues under the guidance of senior team members.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth coordination of procurement, inventory, logistics, and customer delivery activities.
- Perform other logistics, trade, and administrative duties as assigned to support the organization's import and export operations.
Skills Required
- 0-2 years relevant experience in logistics, trade, or supply chain
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to prepare and process import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping documents, customs paperwork)
- Familiarity with customs clearance processes and trade compliance
- Experience tracking shipments and maintaining accurate inventory and shipment logs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders, brokers, and customers
- Administrative skills including data entry, report preparation, and maintaining logistics/trade databases
