Logistics Analyst

WORK AUTHORIZATION

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Logistics Analyst to serve as the subject matter expert overseeing logistics processes that support both internal and external partners across SMA America's supply chain organization. This role develops and monitors KPIs, manages vendor and third-party logistics (3PL) relationships, and drives cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate, timely execution of logistics operations. This role supports both the HBS and Large Scale departments.

This is a regional role that requires close, ongoing coordination with internal teams and external service partners. The Logistics Analyst trains logistics coordinators across the network and provides vendors guidance on priority orders, escalations, returns, and delivery notes.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Vendor and Partner Management

  • Provides guidance to vendors for priority orders, escalations, returns, and delivery notes.
  • Develops, monitors, and reports on KPIs, setting expectations with 3PL and service partners.
  • Leads vendor meetings and trainings on logistics expectations and procedures.
  • Provides support for cycle counts with 3PL partners.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborates cross-functionally with all SMA teams on execution of agreed-upon procedures and implementation.
  • Works cross-functionally with multiple internal and external customers.
  • Communicates professionally and effectively by phone and email with internal and external customers on product, spare parts needs, deliveries, and return of materials.

Data, Reporting, and Process

  • Coordinates and oversees data entry in SAP.
  • Analyzes, investigates, and resolves report discrepancies.
  • Tracks repair and return of parts to and from Germany.
  • Creates and maintains a library of procedures, technical manuals, software releases, and documentation.
  • Prepares data for weekly reports, including KPIs, RMA returns, and inventory consumption.
  • Investigates material issues and addresses master data inconsistencies.

Team Development and Special Projects

  • Trains logistics coordinators and ensures they have the tools needed to succeed.
  • Manages complex special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a logistics or similar role required.
  • Knowledge of supply chain functions (procurement, warehousing, and transportation) required.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal, required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook) required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
  • SAP or other ERP experience preferred.
