Level: Mid-level contractor
Team: Localization
Location: London / Remote or Hybrid
OpenTable’s Localization team helps make our products, content and customer experiences work naturally across global markets. As a Localization Operations Specialist, you will support the daily localization operation end to end, making sure content moves smoothly from intake to delivery, issues are resolved quickly and workflows continue to improve as we scale internationally.
This is a hands-on generalist role for someone who can move comfortably between project coordination, localization technology, integrations, strings management and troubleshooting. You will work with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, CRM, Support, external language partners and other teams across OpenTable.
You will:
- Manage localization requests from scoping and preparation through translation, review, QA and delivery.
- Coordinate priorities, deadlines, dependencies, stakeholders and external language resources.
- Operate and improve localization workflows across tools and integrations, including systems such as Figma, Braze and similar platforms.
- Investigate issues such as missing strings, failed syncs, incorrect statuses, formatting problems, placeholders and duplicate content.
- Work with product strings, keys, resource files, locales, branches, versions and context.
- Support AI-enabled localization workflows, including AI translation, content generation, post-editing, quality checks and automation.
- Identify recurring problems and turn them into better documentation, templates, automation or processes.
- Experience in localization operations, localization project coordination, translation technology or content operations.
- Practical understanding of the localization lifecycle from source preparation through delivery and QA.
- Experience using a translation management system, localization platform or related content workflow tools.
- Working knowledge of product strings and localization concepts such as keys, placeholders, resource files, locales, branches and versions.
- Experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate unclear or technical issues.
- Comfortable working with integrations, connectors, APIs, imports/exports or system-to-system handoffs.
- Clear communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, curious and solution-oriented mindset; you look for ways to make work simpler, faster and more reliable.
- Comfortable working with evolving processes, new tools and changing priorities.
- Experience with Phrase or another modern translation management platform.
- Hands-on experience with Figma, Braze, GitHub, Jira, CMS platforms or customer communication systems.
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI translation, machine translation post-editing, quality estimation, prompt design or AI features in localization tools.
- Basic technical fluency with JSON, CSV, XML, HTML, resource files or API documentation.
- Experience supporting product, UX, marketing, CRM, support, SEO or multimedia localization.
- Experience working with language service providers, linguists or vendor delivery teams.
- Familiarity with internationalization topics such as pluralization, text expansion, date and number formats, currencies and locale-specific requirements.
- Experience using spreadsheets, dashboards or reporting to monitor localization performance.
This role is a strong fit for a localization “jack of all trades”: someone operationally dependable, technically curious, comfortable getting into the detail and relentless about finding a workable solution. The scope reflects OpenTable’s move toward more integrated, automated and AI-enabled localization operations as international demand grows.
