About this opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Local Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the Procurement organization at EAS (Ericsson Antenna System), based in Tetla Tlaxcala, Mexico.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing a local supplier base within assigned commodities, with a strong focus on local market intelligence, supplier scouting, qualification, and localization. You will act as the key interface between global category strategies and local execution, ensuring competitiveness, supply continuity, and compliance with EAS requirements.
You will work closely with global category teams, Strategic Sourcing Managers, R&D, Supply, Quality, and Manufacturing to enable cost-efficient, resilient, and compliant sourcing solutions. Our team embraces lean and agile ways of working, operating in cross-functional and multicultural teams where collaboration and knowledge sharing drive innovation.
What you will do
- Execute and support global category strategies at local level, aligned with business and sourcing objectives
- Scout, evaluate, and qualify local and regional suppliers, including onboarding of new suppliers
- Lead and execute RFx activities, including preparation, supplier evaluation, and award recommendations
- Conduct supplier negotiations and manage commercial agreements in line with global frameworks
- Drive localization initiatives, including dual sourcing, supplier capacity ramp-up, and footprint optimization
- Manage and develop local supplier relationships, ensuring performance on cost, delivery, quality, and sustainability
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and Ericsson policies, including contract and responsible sourcing requirements
- Monitor local market trends, tariff aspects, cost drivers, and supplier risks, providing insights and proposals to global category teams
- Support cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing for smooth implementation
You will bring
- Bachelor's degree in Commercial areas or related.
- Good sourcing experience or technical expertise in a component-related field (technology, telecommunications or automotive)
- Strong understanding of sourcing practices, processes, and strategic levers
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English and Spanish.
- Solid commercial acumen & skills
- Experience with contract management, local laws & regulation knowledge (Mexico experience is a must)
- Ability to work both independently and effectively within a hybrid and cross-functional team environment.
