This 12–18 month program focuses on developing practical skills in animal care, farm operations, and daily farm management — all while experiencing Danish culture and farming excellence first-hand.
What You’ll Be Doing
Animal Care
- Daily feeding and cleaning of pigs or cattle
- Monitoring animal health and behaviour
- Assisting with medication and treatments
Farm Maintenance
- Keeping stables clean and hygienic
- Checking and maintaining equipment
- Supporting seasonal farming tasks
Specialised Support
- Helping with birthing, rearing, or milking (depending on farm type)
- Recording data on animal health, growth, and productivity
Team Collaboration
- Working under farm managers
- Learning alongside experienced local and international staff
Adaptability
- Performing physical work in outdoor, rural, and seasonal environments
Requirements
This traineeship is ideal for:
- Students or recent graduates in Animal Life Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary, or Agriculture
- Individuals aged 18–29 years
- Candidates with basic English communication skills (minimum B1 level, verified via interview or IELTS 3.0+/KET 120+)
- Those eager to gain international work experience in livestock farming

- DKK 12,803.95 – for the first 6 months
- DKK 14,851.37 – for the next 12 months (trainees under 25)
- DKK 17,195.39 – for the next 12 months (trainees over 25)
Working Hours & Overtime
Standard workweek of 37 hours, with additional paid overtime opportunities as per Danish labor law.

Stay in shared housing near your placement farm. Rent is approx. €320/month, including utilities.
