CMC Markets requires a suitably skilled Liquidity Risk Analyst is ensure that all aspects of its liquidity risks are correctly captured, reported and scrutinised in a timely and efficient manner. The role sits with the Liquidity Risk Team which is a second line team, which controls and oversees the Group's liquidity risk management framework, including stress testing and limit governance.
A challenging role, working as part of a small team, a typical day involves a mixture of structured, BAU tasks using a number of systems and project work based around process improvement and ad-hoc analysis.
- Prepare the daily, weekly and monthly risk management reports across core areas of liquidity risk management, including Excel, graphical analysis and VBA.
- Running and improving stress testing and input into regulatory documentation; namely the Group’s Contingency Funding Plan and ICARA.
- Identify and understand the liquidity/ credit risks of new product offerings.
- Establish & maintain good relationships across the business, specifically with Treasury, Trading, Quants, Business Operations, Data teams, and Finance
- Project work including data gathering/mining, process automation and optimisation.
- Undertake ad-hoc work, as requested.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Approximately 2-3 years’ experience in financial services analyst role.
- Proficient Microsoft office product skills particularly Excel (including VBA).
- Strong communications skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to liaise with staff across all areas of the business to achieve results.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organisational skills.
- Able to manage own time to ensure operational duties are completed in line with deadlines whilst balancing the requirement to deliver ad-hoc project work.
- Desire to learn and work within a challenging and changing Financial Institution – potential for study support towards a relevant qualification.
Desirable
- Awareness of FCA/EBA liquidity regulations.
- Understanding of financial markets and products.
- Liquidity risk/ Treasury experience.
- Knowledge of Python, Git and Bloomberg.
- Interested or working towards a relevant professional qualification.
