Your team

You will closely work with an experienced, international and cross functional team of engineers, in a great place to work environment. You will be part of the i.MX Team, developing and integrating software for a wide array of i.MX microprocessors, striving for safe and secure products for our customers. Your responsibilities

• Develop and integrate firmware for VPU subsystems, including bring-up, debugging and optimization.
• Develop, design and maintain Linux kernel drivers for VPU and multimedia subsystems on i.MX platforms.
• Contribute upstream to the broader Linux community (Linux kernel, V4L2, GStreamer).
• Enable and optimize hardware-accelerated video encode/decode pipelines.
• Integrate new i.MX devices in Linux BSP, ensuring high quality release deliverables.
• Maintain existing i.MX products within NXP’s Linux software evolution strategy.
• Periodically support customers on escalations related to VPU, multimedia or firmware behavior.

Your Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar disciplines.
• 7+ years of software development experience with embedded systems.
• Proven experience in embedded firmware development.
• Strong experience with Linux kernel development.
• Would be a plus:
  • Hands on experience with multimedia frameworks (V4L2, GStreamer, FFmpeg).
  • Understanding of video codecs including H.264, H.265.
  • Experience with ARM-based systems hardware bring-up and low-level debugging.
  • Open source communities and contributions to the Linux kernel.

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract
