Job Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux operating systems in classified and unclassified environments.
- Perform system patching, upgrades, hardening, and vulnerability remediation in accordance with DISA STIGs.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and alerts; troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions.
- Support backups, disaster recovery, and system restoration activities.
- Provide Tier II/III support and participate in after-hours or surge operations as required.
- Maintain system documentation and support change management processes.
- Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to support operational requirements.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience supporting secure networks and mission-critical systems.
- Experience applying DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity policies to Unix/Linux systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience providing Tier II/III system support.
- Familiarity with network services, system monitoring tools, and enterprise backup solutions.
Education & Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline
- Seven (7) years of experience administering Unix/Linux systems in enterprise or DoD environments.
Clearance Requirements
- DoD Top Secret clearance is required.
