Linux Systems Administrator
Location: Suitland, MD
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required
Leidos is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to support mission‑critical Scientific & Technical Intelligence (S&TI) systems at the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, MD. This role provides advanced Linux, cybersecurity, and enterprise infrastructure support within a dynamic classified environment enabling engineering analysis, modeling, and high‑performance computing.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Linux server environments (RHEL & RPM‑based).
- Perform system monitoring, issue resolution, patching, STIG hardening, and performance tuning.
- Execute and document IAVA/IAVB implementation and vulnerability remediation.
- Support VMware, NAS/NFS/CIFS, automation tools, and cluster services.
- Maintain and update HBSS, ACAS scanning, Trellix, and other security tools.
- Manage firewall rule updates, IDS/IPS configurations, and endpoint protection.
- Troubleshoot and maintain NetApp storage systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering, cyber, and operations teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (in DISS).
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g. CASP, CISSP, GCIH, Etc.) or higher or the ability to obtain within 30 days of offer acceptance.
- Current Red Hat Certification (RHCA preferred) or the ability to obtain within 30 days of offer acceptance.
- Strong enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise.
- Experience with VMware, storage systems, secure transport protocols, and security configuration.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and customer support skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with FLEXnet License Manager.
- Background supporting mission systems or scientific/engineering software environments.
