We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Linux System Administrator to work as a part of The Enterprise Computing Unix Operations Level 3 team which is responsible for maintaining a centrally managed global plant running on Solaris and Linux systems.
This team serves as the highest level of escalation for support. On call support and weekend work are also part of this role. The ideal candidate will need strong communication skills and be well organized.

This is a Linux System Administrator position which is part of the job family responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability to support business operations.

What you’ll do in the role:
Develop procedures and tools that enable Morgan Stanley's distributed plant to scale effectively by eliminating repetitive operational tasks.
Manage the usual core infrastructure parts such as DHCP, DNS, NTP and a self-maintained global software distribution system and its filesystem backend.
Manage the physical system firmware and remotely troubleshoot hardware.
Work with various customers in a number of different business units during outage scenarios and assist in scaling their plant.
What you’ll bring to the role:
At least 3 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Experience of supporting, managing and debugging large scale production environments
Understanding of the virtualization and microservices and physical infrastructures
In depth experience Linux System administration, preferably Red Hat Linux
Knowledge of clustering technologies preferably Veritas Cluster Server or any other similar with high availability product conception
Ability to read and write code on any Unix shell environment, Perl and/or Python
Knowledge of TCP/IP, experience with host level networking and security concepts, implementation, and troubleshooting
Ability to debug complex problems
Experience with Change Management and Problem management practices
Effective oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a global team environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and high pressure situations for outage handling, management or resolution
