Your team  

You will join an experienced, international and cross-functional team developing Embedded Linux software for NXP’s i.MX family of application processors. Our team is responsible for building and maintaining Yocto-based software platforms, enabling customers worldwide to develop reliable, secure and high-performance products across a wide range of industries. 

 

You will contribute to software integration, build automation, platform customization and release activities while continuously improving the development ecosystem around the Yocto Project and Embedded Linux technologies. 

 

 

Your responsibilities 

  • Maintain and extend Yocto BSP layers and Linux distributions for NXP i.MX platforms. 

  • Create, integrate and maintain Yocto recipes and software packages. 

  • Drive migration and validation activities for new Yocto and Linux Kernel releases. 

  • Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve build, integration and deployment issues. 

  • Design, develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test and release automation. 

  • Improve build infrastructure, build reproducibility and release quality processes. 

 

Your skills 

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Computer Science or similar disciplines. 

  • 3-5 years of experience with Embedded Linux. 

  • Good understanding of Linux system architecture, boot process, system services and userspace components. 

  • Good programming skills in C/C++ and experience working with Makefiles 

  • Good scripting skills in Python and Bash. 

 

Would pe a plus 

  • Experience with Yocto Project architecture, including BitBake, recipes, layers, BSP development and package integration. 

  • Experience maintaining and customizing Linux distributions for embedded systems. 

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance (Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar). 

  • Experience with Git workflows, code reviews and collaborative development practices.

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar
  • 3+ years of software development experience with embedded systems
  • Experience in embedded firmware development
  • Experience with Linux kernel development
  • Valid visa and work permit to work in Romania at application stage
  • Hands on experience with multimedia frameworks (V4L2, GStreamer, FFmpeg)
  • Understanding of video codecs including H.264, H.265
  • Experience with ARM-based systems hardware bring-up and low-level debugging
  • Contributions to open source communities or Linux kernel
