Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in the management and operation of infrastructure services, providing support to the team.
• Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure strategies and projects.
• Help maintain the performance and availability of infrastructure systems while troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with other teams to understand their infrastructure requirements and support design and/or implementation.
• Participate in the implementation of best practices and process improvements within the infrastructure services.
• Assist in the development of infrastructure documentation, including policies, procedures, and reports.
• Contribute to the optimization of resource allocation for infrastructure tasks and projects.
• Effective communication to provide support and collaborate with team members.

Required Skills

• Base Linux OS Build and Acceptance Testing of the of the base OS configuration and installation of related management tools in both physical and virtual environments
• Perform Linux OS Tuning, resolve Linux OS-related problems and issues, provide Linux OS problem escalation, and interact as necessary with third-party suppliers
• Monitor relevant third-party suppliers and industry bulletins for security-related Linux patch alerts, plan changes for Linux OS and non-application software patch updates, and install maintenance patches using • DXC standard patch deployment tooling
• Installation of system-level database software according to Vendor standards for Oracle or other non-windows DBMS' on Linux servers
• Install, configure, and support Licenses served from License servers
• Support of Samba shares (access to Linux file systems from Windows based PC’s)
• Unix ID Creation/Maintenance
• Physical hardware, racking/stacking/cabling in the Nexteer Saginaw and Auburn Hills Client Data Centers

Optional Skills

• Provide technical and operational monitoring staff for storage infrastructure – Nutanix
• Maintain the OS/firmware to supported versions of the Cohesity Backup and Restore infrastructure environment
• Maintain the OS/firmware to supported versions of the Nutanix Hyper-Converged infrastructure environment
• Install, configure, and support Server monitoring software for all DXC Managed servers

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role
• Proven experience in infrastructure technology management
• Proficiencies in technical knowledge and teamwork
• A continuous learner that stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology

Other Qualifications:
• An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
• Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, are a plus

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $73,100 - $135,700.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
