Cavaghan & Gray are a member of the 2 Sisters Food Group based in Carlisle in Cumbria. Specialising in producing ready meals for one of the leading food retailers in the UK.
Job DescriptionMain expectations of the post holder are:
- To effectively manage day to day issues on the line / area to ensure optimum operational performance
- To understand and interpret results, and take action to improve performance
- To control the cost of manufacture by operating to the agreed standards of labour utilisation, material utilisation, machine performance and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Member of middle management within the Production/Operations function, managing a production line or area in accordance with the line schedule and allocated employees
- Key interactions with all site functions (incl. H &S, Technical, Hygiene, Engineering, HR/L & D and any other support services) to ensure that Production is run safely, efficiently and effectively and to minimise downtime / waste
- IOSH Managing Safely (training will be provided)
- CIEH Level 3 Food Safety for food management (training will be provided)
- 12 months experience of people management is desirable
- 12 months experience of working in a production environment is desirable
