Line Leader

Oversees and directs the work of Packagers to ensure production is executed efficiently with a high quality product and minimal waste.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation and pace of Line partnering with QA, Maintenance Mechanic and Packagers.

  • Ensures production runs are executed efficiently, with high quality and minimal waste.

  • Ensure that production Challenges are completed with precision and accuracy. Performs in-process checks and inspections within specified time frames. Reads and understands packaging procedures prior to each job.

  • Adheres to standard SOP's and job specific packaging procedures.

  • Monitors production output on an hourly basis and takes appropriation corrective actions if routings are behind schedule.

  • Escalates production issues to Shift Lead/Production Manger as appropriate. Immediately informs Shift Lead/Production Manager of any downtime, which will cause a delay on the agreed target timelines.

  • Responsible for overseeing the operation and running of up to 3 lines during a shift.

  • Identifies issues or concerns with products or machinery during packaging runs and immediately informs the Shift Lead/Production Manager.

  • Partners with the Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot mechanical problems and repairs

  • Coordinates with the Warehouse and Quality Assurance to ensure issuance and reconciliation are correct for packaging runs and completed in a timely manner.

  • Reviews completed PBR’s each shift for document accuracy. Assists in the orientation and training of new Packagers on duties to be performed.

  • Ensures that the cleanliness of packaging areas is maintained through good housekeeping practices.

  • Responsible for adhering to and enforcing safety practices Other duties as assigned

  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work.

  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within packaging in a GMP environment

  • Supervision or lead experience would be considered an asset

  • Mathematical and analytical skills needed to complete required documentation in a thorough and accurate manner.

  • Precision and high attention to detail required completing In-Process Tests, monitor production lines, review and complete documentation, etc.

  • Machine operating and assembly line experience (preferably in the pharmaceutical or food packing industry).

  • Effective interpersonal/communication skills to work in a team environment.

Salary information: Salary is dependent on experience and you get a shift premium

Rotating Shift: Week 1 Mon-Fri 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; Week 2 Mon-Fri 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM
