About The Opportunity

Line Lead Operators at Menasha Packaging Canada L.P. are integral team members to ensure that we are able to provide the highest level of customer service to our customers. This includes achieving efficient production levels, maintaining a high level of quality, and ensuring that all tasks are completed in a safe way. Line Lead Operators are responsible for the efficient operation of high-speed automated packaging equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure that all equipment is used and maintained in a safe manner and set-up projects/jobs in accordance with customer requirements, and to continuously monitor the quality of the product.
To do this, the Line Lead Operator will ensure open lines of communication, managing line workers efficiently, ensuring all materials to complete a job are available, and to operate/maintain equipment regularly. All required documentation will be completed with attention to detail while ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is maintained on each production run.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position.  The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list.  Other duties may be assigned.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train all general labour personnel in the assembly of displays and other packaging.
  • Maintain and follow GMP guidelines to ensure a clean and safe working environment
  • Continually observe and improve production efficiency
  • Reconciliation of feeder stock and components at the end of each shift. Discrepancies to be reported to the Production Supervisor
  • Foster and maintain open lines of communication
  • Communicate any quality issues with the quality inspectors.
  • Attention to detail is essential to ensure high quality products are delivered to the customer
  • Capable to perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Working regularly with computer software such as Microsoft Office/Windows
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed
  • Setup and general housekeeping of automated filling equipment
  • Setup and change product materials in accordance with the production plan
  • Continuously maintain or exceed production efficiency goals
  • Preparing and palletizing skids of finished product
  • Perform basic setup and troubleshooting on all equipment (training will be provided)
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • High School or equivalent
  • Previous experience on packaging equipment is considered an asset
  • One (1) to two (2) years of pharmaceutical, food, or cosmetic packaging and machine operating experience are considered an asset but is not required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic understanding Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Effectively build strong teams
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a high level of trust and integrity
  • WMS software, Microsoft Office, SAP are all considered an asset
  • Proficient use of the English language (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work with a team of people across different functional areas as well as an individual
  • Ability to read production plans (dockets or spec packs) to ensure each production run is being completed as required

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily works in a factory and/or warehouse setting
  • Position may be based at Menasha Packaging site or customer location
  • Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Stooping, walking, and lifting on a regular basis
