The LifeCare Specialist, will work closely with the external and internal sales organization of John Hancock to execute on the distribution and sales strategy for the LifeCare product placement and sales across the John Hancock customer base.  This will be accomplished by being active and engaged with existing key relationships and building on new customers that are brought into the John Hancock distribution model. 

Critical components of this role will include effective and clear communication specific to the LifeCare product / process, while aligning the sales strategy of our customers to the John Hancock LifeCare sales strategy and identifying opportunities for partnership with our BGA and Producer customers to drive sales volume and growth.  A thorough understanding of the competitive landscape along with effectively communicating this to our John Hancock internal partners as well as external customers will be a necessity to drive overall LifeCare sales. Also, high levels of communication to internal business partners on sales opportunities and needs of our customers will be a responsibility of this role. 

This position will report directly to the Specialty Markets Leader.   

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing sales and marketing support of John Hancock’s hybrid LTC product, LifeCare, within respective territory’s BGA and IMO offices, to include external POS, internal sales desk, and Producers. 
  • In the respective territory, be the point person for BGA offices and Producers in these areas:
    • Marketing / Educational opportunities.
    • Sales, underwriting and process support.
    • Competitor analysis and comparisons to LifeCare value proposition.
  • Demonstrate and have thorough understanding of competition and be able to effectively communicate LifeCare positioning with BGA offices and Producers.
  • Work closely with key COIs (centers of influence) to identify marketing opportunities within the territory. 
  • Work closely with internal business partners (underwriting, marketing, sales support, etc.) as needs arise from BGA offices and/or Producers in the territory.
  • Coordinate and conduct virtual and in person marketing activities, wholesaling initiatives within respective territory.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate with John Hancock RVPs, RDs activities within the respective territory, as the John Hancock team works to drive Life Insurance sales and LifeCare sales.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 10 years of financial services industry sales experience
  • Direct experience in the LTC space with a peer carrier or distribution partner that specializes in the market.
  • State Life and Health License required or must be obtained within 90 days of starting.
  • Self-motivated leader with strong technical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding public speaking and presentation skills; well organized in thoughts and actions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume work environment.
  • Ability to motivate others, establish trust and credibility, and inspire dedication.
  • Travel will be expected in the role

Salary range is expected to be between

$65,000.00 USD - $108,300.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
