Position Overview
The Life Specialist generates profitable advanced life production from agencies in the assigned territory of Michigan.
Essential Job Functions
- Makes systematic calls on the agent to aid the agent in sales, underwriting and education of the agent or any personnel within the agency
- Communicates to the agency force the company philosophy, company policy and method of doing business
- Attends and participates in periodical sales and educational meetings for agency force. These meetings should be a means of communication between the Pekin Home Office and field, promote sales contests, and educate agency force of new products and any industry trends
- Responsible for production of all life products sold by the company
- Assists and trains agencies in using our Company intranet website and life illustration software
- Maintains the call report and/or software system by reporting dates, times and relevant information about each monthly agency call
- Attends quarterly field meetings at the Pekin Home Office and annual award banquets
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required
- Typically requires 3+ years of sales experience in the assigned territory
Certifications & Licenses
- Life Insurance Producers license, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFc) or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic skill in:
- Listening and communicating with the ability to speak in public
Basic ability to:
- Analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Establish program goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
- Work evenings, nights, and/or weekends as necessary
- Maintain a positive image and build strong relationships

Salary Range:
- $94K - 129K per year
- This range is based on the expected level of experience and skills for this position. Final compensation will depend on individual qualifications.
