Job Summary: (General Statement of Duties)
Responsible for implementing therapeutic and recreational programming designed to support the emotional, social, and functional wellbeing of adults receiving mental health services. Working under the direction of the Life Enrichment Manager, the coordinator facilitates structured activities that promote recovery, independence, skill development, and community engagement.
Essential Functions:
- Implement daily, weekly, and monthly life enrichment activities as directed by the life enrichment manager.
- Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
- Monitor resident participation and report progress or concerns to the life enrichment manager and clinical team.
- Provide positive behavioral support and reinforcement during activities.
- Support special creative projects, showcases and performances.
- Document resident attendance, participation levels and notable observations.
- Prepare materials and supplies for scheduled activities.
- Assist with inventory and organization of activity materials.
- Provide transportation for scheduled offsite activities.
- Ability to support team support specialists as a peer in the event of staffing shortage.
- Maintain med training and understanding of current practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare service field.
Essential Qualities:
- Ability to maintain a schedule of Tuesday – Saturday, 1pm – 9:30pm.
- Demonstrate the ability to engage residents in a welcoming, hopeful, empathetic manner regardless of illness or phase of recovery and use principles of trauma informed care and a willingness to support and assist residents with trauma related issues.
- Ability to read and write well and follow written instructions, ability to maintain valid driver’s license and necessary certifications, included but not limited to CPR and First Aid.
- Able to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of each resident.
- Able to appropriately handle emergency situations.
- Must have minimum lifting requirements of 25 pounds.
Skills Required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare service field
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
- Ability to engage residents empathetically using trauma-informed care principles
- Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions
- Valid driver's license and necessary certifications, including CPR and First Aid
- Ability to meet residents' physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs
- Ability to appropriately handle emergency situations
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
- Maintain medication training and understanding of current practices
What We Do
Rose Hill Center is a nonprofit psychiatric residential treatment center in Holly, Michigan. It provides compassionate, structured, long-term residential care and rehabilitation for adults facing serious mental-health conditions, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, borderline personality disorder, and co-occurring conditions. Its person-centered program combines therapy, psychiatry, medication management, case management, therapeutic work teams, and life-skills development to promote stability, independence, and lifelong well-being.
