Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship at North Gosforth Academy

We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to work under the guidance of experienced professionals. The apprentice will engage directly with students, providing both individual and group support to facilitate academic learning and help develop their social and emotional skills.

Apprenticeship Summary:

  • Salary: £8 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
  • Working Week: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break each day
  • Hours: 32.5 hours per week
  • Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors 
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification 
  • Location: Dudley Lane, Seaton Burn, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE13 6EJ

Duties:

  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and delivering lessons
  • Help with the preparation of learning materials and resources
  • Support students in their learning activities and help them stay focused and engaged
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Encourage student participation and promote confidence in learning
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Assist in organising classroom displays and resources
  • Help with the preparation of reports and assessments as needed
  • Support the teacher in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive conduct
  • Assist in implementing school policies and procedures related to student behaviour and safety
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Work towards relevant qualification
  • Seek feedback from mentors and supervisors for continuous improvement

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The successful candidate will obtain a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship standard qualification

Each apprentice will have their own dedicated tutor who will conduct monthly remote tutorials and reviews, providing continuous support throughout the apprenticeship program. Depending on the apprentice’s needs, the frequency of these sessions may vary.

Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship. 

Pre-employment checks. Please be aware that upon a successful offer of employment, the company completes digitalised right-to-work checks and DBS applications via an external provider - 'Matrix Screening'. The company also completes an internal online social media search, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
