SNG (Sovereign Network Group) is one of the largest housing associations in England. We provide 86,000 homes and invest in communities across London, the South East, South West and East of England, as well as aiming to create thousands of new affordable homes every year.
We have an opportunity for a Lettings Officer to join our team in Exeter. This is a full time permanent role which will embrace SNG's hybrid principle, with a blend of home, office and on site working.
The Role
As Lettings Officer, you'll be responsible for managing the customer journey from tenancy end through to a successful new letting. Working closely across teams, you will ensure that our homes are let appropriately, while maintaining high data quality and compliance standards.
A large part of your role will be to carry out in depth interviews with applicants to assess their eligibility for housing - therefore having a diplomatic and confidential approach is a key requirement of this position.
Other responsibilities include:
- Managing void properties and supporting the re-letting of homes across multiple localities.
- Carrying out tenancy end inspections and providing advice to customers moving out of their homes.
- Creating engaging property adverts and marketing materials
- Viewing properties with potential customers, or providing video viewings
- Pulling together relevant documentation to be signed via Docusign, and arranging handover of keys
- Ensuring Property Services are notified of any potential recharges, or major works, on upcoming empty homes
What we're looking for:
- Knowledge of housing allocations, lettings, and relevant housing legislation.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service within housing or another complex customer-focused environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and make balanced decisions using a customer-focused and risk-based approach.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and data.
Job Description
We have some great benefits at SNG, including:
25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays (with an extra day every year up to 30 days)
Chance to buy or sell holiday as part of our flexible benefits package
3 additional wellbeing days and 2 paid volunteering days
Generous matched pension scheme up to 12% and Life cover at 4x salary
