FCE Bank is seeking an experienced lawyer qualified in France to join its legal team supporting the French business. This is a broad, visible role offering the opportunity to partner closely with senior stakeholders while advising on key legal and regulatory matters across a highly regulated consumer finance environment.
Working as a trusted adviser to the business, you will provide practical and commercially focused legal support across a diverse range of activities including consumer and commercial automotive finance, lending and insurance products, dealer finance, commercial agreements, regulatory change and business transformation initiatives.
ResponsibilitiesThe role offers significant variety and exposure, with responsibilities spanning:
- Advising on consumer and commercial finance products, including origination, servicing, marketing and customer-facing regulatory requirements.
- Supporting dealer and wholesale finance activities, including contractual arrangements, security documentation and default-related matters.
- Partnering with business functions on commercial agreements with suppliers, service providers and strategic partners.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments at both French and European level and supporting implementation across the business.
- Providing guidance on complaints, dispute resolution and litigation matters.
- Collaborating with international colleagues and senior leadership teams to help deliver business objectives in a legally compliant and commercially pragmatic manner.
We're interested in speaking with lawyers who are qualified in France and bring experience gained within regulated financial services environments. Experience within consumer finance, banking, lending, automotive finance or related sectors would be particularly relevant.
You'll likely bring:
- At least 5-7 years' post-qualification legal experience.
- A strong understanding of banking and financial services regulation.
- Exposure to consumer lending, consumer credit, financial products or related regulatory frameworks.
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to influence stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
