The Legal Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company operates according to the highest ethical, legal, and compliance standards. The candidate shall have a strong foundation in law, in supporting GoTo Financial Peer to Peer business with a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment by ensuring that the best possible service can be offered to the stakeholders by adopting a customer-oriented attitude by guiding stakeholders and offering them the most appropriate solution and excellent services. Stay informed about professional knowledge and technical skills in legal and product areas to maximize the professional knowledge and to apply it within the organization in the best possible manner. The key area of focus is to make first-class knowledge easily available to the legal team and to the organization with the aim of increasing the quality, consistency and/or cost-effectiveness of the advice that it gives to the stakeholders.
What you will do
- Supporting and supervising the relevant legal matter across products in lending entities including but not limited to GoTo Financial products that crossing with lending products;
- Providing legal advisory or guidance, analysis and research, including identifying legal risk facing the company and mitigation;
- Drafting and reviewing agreement, drafting and maintaining standardized templates (including loan agreement, terms and conditions & Privacy Policy) negotiating with counterparts;
- Due Diligence on external Party from legal point of view;
- Liaising with external party such as, notary, law firm, court and or other authorities;
- Any other ad-hoc duties that may be required.
What you will need
- Bachelor of Law degree;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of law, mix of law firm and in-house experience and preferably with 2 years of experience in a peer to peer lending industry;
- Strong knowledge of financing law (OJK regulatory framework governing the multifinancial and P2P business activities, consumer protection, AML, and Code of Conduct), including understanding of current technology and innovation and regulatory trends.
- Advanced level of spoken and written both in English and Indonesian language.
- Ability to work by self-initiating and takes a pro-active approach towards projects; seeks direction and advice as needed but also prepared to take ownership and cooperate with different teams, as well in remote settings.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Well-developed communication skills (including oral, written and interpersonal skills) and the ability to liaise and negotiate in a variety of contexts, include builds credibility and strong relationships with stakeholders and counterparts.
About the Team
The GoTo Financial Legal team is part of the External Affair Division in GoTo Financial which is a combination of Legal, Corporate Affair, Public Policy & Government Related and Anti money laundering. GoTo Financial Legal is also heavily in collaboration with the larger GoTo Group Legal team. The gist of our role is to support the internal stakeholders efforts to scale GoTo’s Group business operations whilst managing legal risks appropriately. GoTo Financial legal team working closely with the Business, Product, and various functional teams across the organization, we act as a strategic partner to GoTo Group.
GoTo Financial legal focus will be mainly on the payments, lending business in GoTo Financial (i.e. , payment gateway, e-money, e-wallet, multi finance, P2P lending, and merchant services), digital identity, Information technology and Artificial Intelligence, strategic deals, partnerships, data protection & privacy, intellectual property, antitrust/competition law, among other domains.
