Legal Counsel

Cadence is looking for a business-oriented attorney to join our inhouse team! The ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of legal experience, and have an interest in technology. In addition, candidates should have a JD from an ABA accredited law school and qualified to practice law in CA.

We offer a collegial working environment. You will be involved with a broad range of legal activities. Knowledge of AI, IP, and/or privacy laws a plus.

The following skills are required: a “can do” attitude, independence, exceptional work ethic, responsiveness, reliability, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and relationship-building.

Responsibilities will likely include:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial (including vendor) contracts, such as consulting agreements, sponsorship agreements, and software licensing agreements.

  • Managing and updating cloud and other customer software templates.

  • Reviewing open source license terms and requests.

  • Privacy and AI-related research and compliance projects.

  • Providing support on M&A, litigation, and other legal projects, as requested. 

This position will provide the successful candidate with the immediate opportunity to positively impact business and become an important contributor to Cadence’s success.

Location: This is an in-office position based out of our San Jose, CA office.

The annual salary range for California is $131,600 to $244,400. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
