Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate procurement contracts. Role may expand to include other agreements, such data center services agreements, colocation contracts, power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and SLAs with enterprise clients and hyperscale operators
- Provide legal advice on various other legal matters, as needed (such as privacy laws, intellectual property laws and other laws and regulations) relevant to the daily operations of the business
- Coordinate cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional regulatory approvals
- Navigate zoning, permitting, environmental compliance, and land use matters for data center developments
- Manage relationships with internal business stakeholders, Legal department and external counsels
Requirements:
- An LLB degree or above from a reputable university in a common law jurisdiction
- Qualified to practice law in Singapore / Malaysia. Qualifications or experience practicing in other common law jurisdictions is a strong plus
- At least 4 years of experience in a major international/Malaysia/Singapore top tier law firm
- Demonstrated expertise in procurement, construction, data center and general commercial contracts (telecommunications, or technology infrastructure sectors also a strong plus)
- English and Malay speaker with strong command of MS Office software applications (e.g., Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
- Excellent drafting skills (English and Malay) and strong negotiation skills
