As Legal Counsel Marketing, you’ll act as a trusted legal business partner for marketing, media, and digital technology teams at Red Bull. Based in Elsbethen, you’ll advise on international marketing projects, support contract drafting and negotiations, and help business teams navigate copyright, contract, marketing, and data privacy law with confidence.
In this role, you’ll work closely with colleagues across Legal MMDT, Global Marketing, the Regions legal team, and external partners. Your expertise will help enable all sorts of marketing initiatives while ensuring legal compliance and practical solutions.
Job DescriptionLEGAL BUSINESS PARTNER FOR MARKETING
You’ll advise and support internal clients on legal matters related to global marketing activities, including event sponsorship agreements, talent agreements, terms of participation, event agency agreements, licence agreements, letters of intent, independent contractor agreements, participant disclaimers, etc.
CONTRACT DRAFTING AND NEGOTIATION
You’ll draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and marketing-related agreements in English, and ideally also in German. Your work will help business teams move projects forward while protecting Red Bull’s legal and commercial interests.
DATA PRIVACY SUPPORT
You’ll provide first-level support on data privacy questions from your inhouse clients, especially in relation to consumer activations, participatory events, and marketing initiatives. You’ll help ensure that projects align with GDPR, consumer protection, and relevant legal requirements.
TEMPLATES, TOOLKITS AND PLAYBOOKS
You’ll revise existing templates and create new legal templates, toolkits, and playbooks for Global Marketing units and country teams. In close alignment with Area Legal Counsels, you’ll help ensure these materials are practical, efficient, and suitable for use across different markets.
TRAINING AND KNOWLEDGE SHARING
You’ll prepare and deliver legal trainings for business teams, enabling them to handle standard legal tasks more independently. Through clear guidance and practical support, you’ll strengthen awareness of legal requirements and improve day-to-day collaboration.
INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
You’ll work with legal and business colleagues across jurisdictions, including teams in Europe, LATAM, MEWA, Asia Pacific, the UK, and the US. You’ll also collaborate with external law firms and legal departments of contractual partners when specialist or cross-border input is required.
Qualifications- European law degree; German qualification as “Volljurist” with at least one state exam with distinction, or Austrian law degree with law firm experience considered an advantage.
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally in a top-tier law firm with a marketing focus, an international FMCG company, or a similar international environment.
- Excellent knowledge of copyright, contract, and marketing law, combined with a strong understanding of EU data protection law.
- Experience working across jurisdictions, especially with the US, UK, or EU.
- Ability to draft and negotiate agreements confidently in English; German or any other language is a plus.
- Clear, structured, and precise way of working, with the ability to prioritize and stay effective under pressure.
- Proactive, solution-driven approach and a strong “can do” attitude.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to train and guide business stakeholders.
- Highly motivated and resilient, with strong social skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across legal and business teams.
Due to legal reasons we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary according to the collective agreement for this position, which is € 2.362,- gross per month. However, our attractive compensation package is based on market-oriented salaries and is therefore significantly above the stated minimum salary.
