Summary:
In this role, you will manage and negotiate complex customer agreements with healthcare providers across the country. You will collaborate with a team of Vizient attorneys to provide efficient service to a broad array of clients.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, negotiate a variety of complex commercial contracts.
- Respond to legal requests and questions quickly and courteously. Provide counseling and training to business teams regarding contract terms, negotiations, strategies and other legal issues as needed.
- Build relationships with business unit team members through an open and collaborative style.
- Assist business teams in achieving the company’s goals and objectives in a legal and ethical manner.
- Work collaboratively with fellow legal team members to improve processes, share best practices, and generally promote a collegial working environment.
- Proactively identify legal and regulatory risks and trends, and provide related advice.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree required.
- Admission to the bar in at least one state required.
- No prior experience required.
- Experience working as legal counsel in a law firm and/or in-house legal counsel preferred.
- Extensive knowledge and negotiation experience working with complex commercial transactions and general contracting matters.
- Ability to effectively manage responsibilities with an appropriate sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and acute attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, and to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
- Proven ability to take a proactive long-term view of business goals and objectives to achieve strategic business results.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $194,200.00.
This position is also incentive eligible.
