Job Purpose
- Serve as the primary legal advisor to the company on all aspects of its business
- Provide strategic legal advice and support to the company’s management team on a broad range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and litigation
- Assist Head of Legal to oversee the work of outside counsel and manage the company’s legal budget
- Serve as a liaison between the legal department and other departments within the company
- Handle special projects as needed
Job Accountability
- Organize the objectives and structure of the legal documents; draft, proofread to ensure required facts and laws are presented in document’s T&C.
- Analyse specific business requirements and assess the potential impact of solution options
- Understand governance law and processes and how it reflects in the organization’s compliance process and guidelines.
- Collaborate with law enforcement personnel and lawyers to deliver materials for use in litigation.
- Conduct legal research, legal updates and advocacy.
Job Responsibilities
- To systemize/ enhance/ develop insurance products to make sure the PWs are well drafted and filed in compliance with the regulation as well as the Company’s expectation/system.
- Non-claim, claim litigation handling to protect PVA’s legal interest. Present as PVA’s authorized representative at Court, police, procuracy. Preparation of supporting documents and co-ordination with the Company’s outside lawyers (if any) in litigation/legal matters and make sure that Legal Head and Management Team are well updated on litigation/legal matters.
- Draft and review the Company’s contracts/agreements.
- Legal support and provisions of legal advice and opinions to all Departments in timely and accurate manner.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Legal Head from time to time.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Law
Experience
- At least 5 years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department, with a strong understanding of insurance industry.
- Experience in financial services industry.
- Strong experience in dealing with litigation and customer complaints.
