Job Description

We are seeking a Legal Compliance Program Manager to join our global Legal Compliance team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will manage and assist in the development and implementation of company-wide compliance programs, procedures and supporting tools. To be successful in this role, you must be able to work independently and collaborate with teams and senior stakeholders across businesses, regions and functions around the globe.

As legal compliance program manager you will be part of the GBP (GBP stands for General Business Principles, the Philips code of conduct). Program Office. You will lead the team that is responsible for our global SpeakUp program and our GBP & Legal Compliance Training & Communications program. You prepare regular updates for senior management on these programs. You will also engage with other stakeholders in Philips (regions, businesses and functions) and with our external auditors (e.g. for our Annual Report).

Your role:

- Manage and oversee Philips SpeakUp program, including:

  • The program implementation globally and ensuring compliance of the program with relevant legislation (whistleblower legislation, DOJ guidance, OIG pillars).
  • Maintaining relevant policies and procedures (Code of Conduct, SpeakUp Policy, Investigation Standards & Procedures).
  • Overseeing the global network of GBP Compliance officers and investigators
  • Implement and (project) manage applications and tools in support of the SpeakUp program (incl. NAVEX), in close collaboration with subject matter experts.

- Lead complex and sensitive internal investigations across multiple jurisdictions, including legally privileged investigations, appeal cases and managing outside counsel. Advising Legal and other GBP Investigators on all aspects of investigations across segments (legal, quality, HR, security, etc.).

- Act as a people leader, leading and developing a team of 3 Legal Compliance professionals, providing direction, coaching, and performance support to ensure effective delivery of compliance objectives.

- Manage and oversee Philips GBP and Legal Compliance training programs:

  • GBP and Legal Compliance eLearning (70,000 employees), customer-facing training (15,000 employees; focus on Healthcare Compliance, Antitrust, ABAC, export control, privacy). Dialogue initiatives (e.g. Blue Heart series) and the training for the network of GBP Investigators.
  • Driving strategic direction of training program, amongst others by continuous improvement, advancing consequence management for non-completion, measuring effectiveness.

- Manage and oversee Philips GBP and Legal Compliance multi-channel Communications program, including tone at the top and middle, tailoring for various audiences, supporting local organizations in driving effective localization. 

- Drive strategic direction of communications program, amongst others by measuring effectiveness, integration of communications programs across domains / functions (patient safety, HR, culture, etc.)

- End-to-end responsibility for biennial global Business Integrity Survey.

- Support in the monitoring of General Business Principles (GBP) & legal compliance controls and follow up on results/deficiencies where necessary.

- Identify GBP & legal compliance best practices, leveraging these practices across Regions and Businesses (continuous improvement).

You're the right fit if:
  • Master's Degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the legal compliance domain.
  • Proven experience operating in a legal compliance team in a complex, international environment, preferably within a multinational company.
  • Advanced stakeholder management skills, with the ability to advise, influence, and challenge senior leaders.
  • Strong collaborator, working with cross‑functional teams (e.g. Business, Finance, HR) to ensure effective functioning and delivery of the Speak Up and GBP & Legal compliance program.
  • Experience designing and delivering legal compliance trainings, awareness sessions, and clear stakeholder communications.
  • Solid knowledge of legal compliance frameworks (including ABAC, Antitrust, Healthcare Compliance and Export Control & Sanctions), controls, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project and program management, including leading workstreams in cross‑functional or transformation initiatives.
  • Fluent English at C1 level or higher (spoken and written).

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.​ Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.​
