This position will provide coordination and administrative support to Cigna’s Enterprise Privacy Compliance Team.. This position will require critical and strategic thinking in order to work cross functionally with other departments to triage Privacy related matters, intake and process HIPAA Individual Right and State Privacy Rights requests. This has significant impact as it ensures adherence with regulatory obligations and timelines. This position will also assist with identifying and reporting privacy incidents to ensure timely reporting. Additionally, this position will help create a culture of Privacy compliance by assisting with Privacy awareness and education to the employee population as well assist the Privacy Office to successfully carryout other strategic compliance goals, including audits, monitoring and training.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Triage all incoming privacy issues that are brought to the attention of the Privacy Office
- Conduct privacy compliance training, auditing, and monitoring
- Provide responses to internal partners on behalf of the Privacy Office
- Provide external facing responses to member requests and questions.
- Manage and process HIPAA Individual Rights and State Privacy Rights requests
- Coordinate with internal departments to address privacy related concerns
- Act as compliance resource both internally and externally
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university or 3 years’ experience in a healthcare industry required;
- Experience successfully managing multiple deadlines;
- Strong, independent decision-making ability;
- Familiar with the Privacy regulations related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent organization and time management skill;
- Ability to manage multiple projects to timely completion;
- Ability to professionally interface with others at all levels; and
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 27 - 40 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
