Primary Purpose
Provides a broad range of paraprofessional, technical, and administrative support services within the legal and government affairs teams. Support leadership, inhouse counsel (as needed), and outside counsel on a wide range of management, legal, programmatic, and operational issues. Assists in various aspects of research and analysis, and drafting of legal documentation.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Salisbury, NC.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the legal and government affairs leadership teams, performing a wide variety of confidential office clerical and administrative functions.
  • Preparing effective letters, reports, memoranda, and other documents.
  • Researches, analyzes, proposes and implements organizational methods in response to legal revisions and/or management directives.
  • Responds to legal inquires from attorneys and internal clients, often requiring diplomacy and tact.
  • Manages and evaluates the effectiveness of records policies, standards and procedures to ensure department adheres to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Conducts legal and factual data research and data analysis as requested.
  • Conveys information to clients regarding legal and/or contractual issues.
  • Assembles, organizes, and produces information and documentation for in-house and outside counsel.
  • Serves as liaison with outside counsel and administrative agencies in the resolution of day-to-day issues as appropriate.
  • Oversees and coordinates the destruction of legal and sensitive materials/cases in compliance with purging criteria.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates meetings and conferences, arranging travel, lodging, facilities, and reimbursements as appropriate.
  • Reviews legal bills for inaccuracies or questionable amounts.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises departmental forms.
  • Performs a variety of other activities related to practice area and other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of records and information management principles and procedures in order to manage information throughout its lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of relevant legal and governmental processes, procedures, protocols, and conventions
