Purpose of the role
The Learning Experience Specialist & Editor supports the continuous innovation of the Customer Learning & Knowledge Experience by exploring, testing, and incorporating pedagogical, editorial, UX‑writing and learning‑technology best practices. The role contributes to the design and delivery of high‑quality learning and knowledge solutions by ensuring content is clear, consistent, accessible, and aligned to user‑experience principles.
In addition to editing customer‑facing content to plain‑English standards, the role helps maintain editorial frameworks, terminology and style guidance, and ensures content is structured and prepared for localization, machine‑translation and AI‑enabled workflows. The specialist collaborates closely to drive content clarity, linguistic consistency and overall learning impact across CLS.

Specific Knowledge
Learning Experience, UX Design & UX Writing
Experience in Learning Experience Design, Instructional Design, or content creation for digital learning.
Experience contributing to UX writing and UX design, including structuring learner flows and designing content‑centric interactions.
Ability to design intuitive content flows and apply UX thinking to simplify complex information.
Familiarity with content accessibility expectations (e.g., readability, alt text, structured headings) and ability to apply them consistently.
Editorial & Content Quality
Demonstrated experience editing and proofreading customer‑facing content to plain‑English standards, following established editorial processes and style guides under the guidance of the full‑time editor.
Experience working with established content‑quality frameworks, templates, and review processes in cross‑functional environments.
Strong writing, editing, and information‑design skills with rigorous attention to clarity, structure, and consistency.
Localisation, MT, and AI‑Ready Content
Familiarity with localisation and MT workflows, including structuring content for MT and genAI readiness using defined tags and conventions.
Basic knowledge of TMS/CAT tools (e.g., MemoQ) and collaboration within localisation‑aware systems.
Learning Tools & Digital Authoring
Working knowledge of authoring and learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Flare, Camtasia).
Comfortable working with technology including AI‑assisted tools, MT/TMS systems, learning technologies, and digital authoring tools
Education requirements
Undergraduate degree in Education, Linguistics, Technical Writing, Instructional Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
Relevant work experience
• 2 years+ proven work experience in Learning Experience Design/Instructional Design/Adult Learning Theory/Editing and proofreading content to plain English standards, following established editorial processes.
• Experience contributing to UX writing and UX design, including structuring learner flows and designing content‑centric interactions.
• Experience working with established content‑quality frameworks, templates, and review processes in cross‑functional teams.
• Experience administering Learning Management Systems required. Content Management systems a plus.
• Familiarity with localisation and MT workflows, including preparing content for MT/genAI readiness using defined structures and tags.
• Experience supporting terminology consistency, style alignment, and content quality under the direction of a senior editor or editorial lead.
• Experience with Learning and Knowledge AI tools and technologies highly regarded.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, Power platform highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of graphics editing tool (i.e., Figma, Adobe Photoshop, TechSmith SnagIt) highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of TMS/CAT tools, TMS/MemoQ highly regarded.
• Working knowlege of CSS, HTML, Javascript highly regarded.
• Successful track record in setting priorities, shaping and following processes and problem solving.
• History of working successfully within a globally diverse team highly regarded.
• Travel Industry experience with Amadeus GDS skills highly regarded.
• Experience participating in or supporting user research activities (e.g., usability reviews, learner feedback sessions, content walk‑throughs) to inform content clarity, flow, and user experience decisions
