Job Summary:
Working closely with product and development parters, you will lead design vision and coordinate work to support customer centric design excellence across eCommerce product teams.
What You Will Do:
  • Represent, communicate and advocate for the eCommerce design work to business leaders across the company.
  • Lead design workshops and vision work for cross-functional teams. Bringing together business goals, product requirements, industry leading design standards, user research and insights.
  • Develop end to end journey mapping, personas and other foundational experience artifacts in partnership with insights team members.
  • Participate in UX design intake inclusive of assessing scope, complexity, and required design investment.
  • Support the team in aligning scope, timing, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations across initiatives.
  • Run design reviews and critiques to evolve and validate that proposed design solutions align with vision, requirements, existing architecture and established design systems.
  • Coordinate across designers to anticipate and identify impacts from upcoming releases or parallel workstreams.
  • Track QA builds to identify and flag fidelity risks early, partnering with engineering to resolve issues.
  • Monitor post-launch evaluation metrics and support continuous cleanup and refinements.

Ability to design eCommerce experiences that meet real user needs and deliver business outcomes.

  • Defines objectives and scope
  • Leads agile processes to asses end-user feedback and validate designs.
  • Directs pilot testing and iterates prototypes based on evaluation results.
  • Consults on complex scenarios and optimizes organizational strategies.

UX/UI Design
Ability to design intuitive, effective eCommerce experiences.
Level - Extensive Experience:
  • Advises on mental models and competitive approaches.
  • Coaches others on evaluating design effectiveness and contextual analysis.
  • Develops prototypes, user journeys, and design deliverables.
  • Delivers high-quality UI design solutions, balancing visual and functional excellence

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $208,770.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.

Skills Required

  • Extensive experience in UX/UI design for eCommerce
  • Proven experience leading design vision, workshops, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing journey maps, personas, prototypes and foundational experience artifacts
