Job Title : Technologist, Rigids Platform

Reports to : Technical Manager, Rigids Platform
Location : Shanghai
2. Job Purpose:

- To support Country Commercial/Technical Service Teams/Strategic Marketing Team across Asia Pacific Region in delivering inorganic business growth through Rigids applications or products development, or in sustaining existing business through resolving long-haul customer production problems.

- Main Interfaces: Commercial/TS Teams/ Strategic Marketing Team in Asia Pacific Region, and Global Research Team.

4. Principal Accountabilities:

1) EHS and Business Conduct Compliance (10%)
- Comply and ensure zero reportable EHS incident and no breach of Corporate Business
Conduct policy and regulations.
2) Technical (Application and Product) Development (70%)
- Carry out the Rigids Development Projects especially for construction insulation assigned and instructed by Technical Manager.
- In collaboration with the relevant Country Commercial/TS Teams and Strategic Marketing Team, and ultimately contribute to the generation of sales.
3) Technical Assets (20%)
- Operate and maintain equipment for Rigids applications in proper manners.
5. Required Education/Knowledge/Skills/Experiences
(education, experience, skills and training required for the job )
Education:
- Master or above degree with major in polymer science or other chemical-related fields.
Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge about Rigids technologies and polyurethane industries.
- Rich experience and knowledge in PU Rigids formulation, processing and production.
- Sufficient knowledge about chemicals business, marketing, supply chain, finance etc.
Skills:
- Effective interpersonal, communication, negotiating and influencing skills.
- Strong Polyurethane Rigids application and product development skill.
- Sufficient equipment operation skill for adhesive and coating applications.
- Sufficient computer application skills. (Excel, Words, Powerpoint, Lotus Notes etc.)
- Fluent English command.
Experiences:
- 5 years’ technical development or technical service related experience in Rigids fields or polyurethane industries with proven track record, and preferably with multi-national companies.
