The Technical Writer, as a part of the Maternal and Infant care Systems Engineering team, will create and maintain product and service documentation (product manuals, guides and labels) for end users and service engineers to enable safe and effective use of the device.

Job DescriptionJob Description
- Create and maintain user support documentation, including on device help screens
- Manage documentation requirements
- Track and fix documentation defects
- Provide input on other technical writing projects by critiquing, editing, and proofreading manuscripts prepared by others
- Exceptional written, organizational, inter-personal, project management, and communication skills
- Create test protocols for user documentation verification
- Adhere to GE HealthCare technical publications standards
- Assist in the development and implementation of the user documentation strategy
- Create documentation methodologies, frameworks, and workflow diagrams
- Develop of user-training materials
- Good understanding of engineering change concepts
- Goof knowledge of design verification activities
- Work in cooperation with graphics and print team to coordinate illustration, page production, and printing to ensure timely completion of technical literature projects
- Interact with global teams to promote consistency and maximize synergy
- Communicate effectively & impactfully in a cross-functional, multi-cultural, global environment
- Experience writing user and service documents, coordinating translations, and using content management systems
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, Technical Writing)
- 8+ years’ experience in Technical Writing for Medical devices
- Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following: Microsoft Office, Oxygen xml authoring, Adobe Framemaker, Adobe Acrobat, RoboHelp and WebWorks Publisher software.
- Familiarity with conventions in form, structure, and notation of technical writing
- Exceptional written, organizational, inter-personal, project management, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and in teams
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, presentation skills and technical communication skills.
Desired Characteristics
- Familiarity with quality system requirements for Technical Writing
- Experience in working with scrum teams and Agile
- MDR regulations
- Knowledge of HealthCare test tools and processes
