What Will You Be Doing?
The DAI Technical Pod Lead will be responsible for leading and supporting pods of external developers. Responsibilities will also include the design, development, testing and support of enterprise Business Intelligence and Reporting mid-level solutions. The DAI Technical Pod Leader will demonstrate independent judgment, strong commitment to teamwork and exceptional customer service to achieve the goals of Frontier and the Business Intelligence team.
Essential Functions
- Lead and develop a high-performing pod of data engineers, analysts, and external delivery partners supporting Commercial business domains.
- Serve as the primary technology partner for Commercial stakeholders, including Revenue Management, Marketing, Loyalty, Digital, Network Planning, and Customer teams.
- Drive the end-to-end delivery of data, analytics, reporting, and AI initiatives aligned to business priorities and strategic objectives.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable data architecture, engineering solutions, and actionable insights.
- Define and maintain technical standards, solution architecture, development practices, and governance processes across the Commercial pod.
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and data products using Databricks, Delta Lake, Azure, and Power BI.
- Identify and implement AI, machine learning, and Generative AI opportunities that improve business performance and decision-making.
- Manage delivery roadmaps, resource planning, sprint execution, and vendor performance to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Review solution designs, architecture, and code to ensure quality, scalability, security, and compliance with enterprise standards.
- Partner with Data Governance, Security, Architecture, and Infrastructure teams to maintain platform reliability and data integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimization, and adoption of modern data engineering practices.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and customer-focused team culture.
Other Functions
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data engineering, analytics, and AI.
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership regarding technology investments, platform capabilities, and data strategy.
- Mentor team members and support their technical and professional development.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture, data governance, and analytics modernization initiatives.
- Support executive presentations, business cases, and roadmap planning activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 8+ years of experience delivering Data Engineering, Analytics, or Business Intelligence solutions.
- 3+ years of experience leading technical teams and cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms, including Databricks and Power BI.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI solutions.
- Airline, travel, or other customer-focused industry experience preferred.
- Relevant Azure, Databricks, or Microsoft certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across business and technology organizations.
- Advanced knowledge of Data Engineering principles, data modeling, data integration, and data architecture.
- Deep expertise in Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Strong proficiency with Power BI, dashboard design, performance optimization, and executive reporting.
- Experience building and operationalizing AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology investments to measurable business value.
