Position Overview
The Lead Software Engineer is a seasoned professional who designs, develops, tests, troubleshoots, and debugs complex software applications, taking on greater leadership responsibilities. Recognized for expertise in multiple areas, this role provides guidance on design and development strategies, and often leads complex projects that require both broad and detailed analysis of various factors. The position demands excellent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results. Ideal candidates should have experience working directly with customers, effectively participating in calls, understanding, and resolving issues. The role involves planning and prioritizing design and development activities to address a wide range of problems. Candidates should be capable of multitasking and analyzing diverse data to identify key factors.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Architect and develop sophisticated enterprise applications and functionalities for the Android platform.
Employ a prioritization framework that balances quality, technical debt, and timely feature delivery.
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to improve development efficiency.
Engage in cross-functional collaboration to delineate, conceptualize, and deliver new features.
Employ a prioritization framework that balances quality, technical debt, and timely feature delivery.
Conduct rigorous unit testing to ensure code robustness, usability, and reliability.
Address bug fixes, tackle complex customer escalations, and enhance application performance.
Pay meticulous attention to ensuring the application's compatibility across various Android versions and device models.
Continuously explore, assess, and integrate new technologies to enhance development efficiency.
Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Contribute to maintaining code quality, organization, and automation efforts.
Leverage AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI‑based code review and analysis) to accelerate development, improve code quality, and reduce manual effort.
Drive adoption of AI‑enabled engineering workflows across development, testing, debugging, and PR reviews while ensuring security, privacy, and maintainability standards.
Apply AI‑assisted techniques for log analysis, crash diagnostics, performance optimization, and faster customer issue resolution.
Required Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 10+ years of comprehensive software development expertise.
Proficiency in Android application development using Java/Kotlin (preferably Enterprise apps)
You're a hands-on engineer who prioritizes writing code that's easy to comprehend rather than over-engineering.
Good knowledge of Data Structures, Algorithms and OS.
Proficiency in design patterns like MVVM, MVP, and MVI.
Familiarity with Android SDK, Jetpack, Retrofit, Dagger, and similar libraries.
Experience in collaborating with RESTful APIs and web services.
Experience in fine-tuning performance and memory management for complex applications.
Capability to design applications following Android's recommended user interfaces, such as "Material Design”.
Proficiency with Agile development methodology (preferably Scrum), continuous integration, and associated tools (GIT, JIRA, etc.) utilized to facilitate these processes.
Experience with AI tools like GitHub Copilot i development is highly advantageous.
Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) in production‑grade software development.
Ability to effectively guide, validate, and refine AI‑generated code, tests, and reviews to meet enterprise quality and performance standards.
Experience or strong interest in applying AI for improving developer productivity, test automation, debugging, and operational support.
