Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer in Technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology.
This is a critical role within CCIBT Platform Management, responsible for supporting and troubleshooting loan accounting systems and managing code deployments within a controlled change-management framework. The role includes providing on-call support for production applications and partnering closely with internal teams and external vendors to investigate and resolve issues. Responsibilities also include supporting internal and external applications, delivering day-to-day support to business users, monitoring system health, and performing technical refreshes, application migrations, and business continuity (BCP) activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical problem-solving skills, clear communication of status and progress, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high pressure environment while managing multiple priorities.
In this role, you will:
- Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams
- Lead team to meet moderately complex technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems
- Recommend solutions to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by automating platform activities to lower human intervention time on related tasks
- Act independently as a liaison for the platform team in support of daily inquiries, problem and incident management, change management, project delivery, and escalations.
- Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements.
- Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives.
- Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals.
- Provide training and mentoring to lower experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- 5+ years of experience providing monitoring tools support for applications built on JAVA or .NET or cloud platforms.
- 5+ years of application production support experience
- 3+ years of experience with application and infrastructure domains, including Web, Application, Database, and Server technologies.
- 3+ year of Autosys experience
- 5+ years of experience in supporting applications running on Linux & Windows
- 5+ years of experience supporting Loan IQ application
- 5+ years of experience working with Relationship Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL
- 4+ years of support experience with Cloud applications likes Microsoft Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry or Amazon Web Services cloud
- 4+ years of advanced scripting experience using Unix Shell Scripting, or Windows PowerShell and PL-SQL
- 4+ years of support experience with NDM and file transmission services
- 4+ year of Splunk experience
- Experience in financial services
- Awareness / use of AI/ML technology
- Hands-on experience supporting enterprise application platforms in the areas of monitoring, scheduling, or observability (e.g., Autosys, Grafana, Splunk, Thousand Eyes).
- Knowledge and understanding of technology production support: fast paced dynamic customer facing application which requires high availability.
- Knowledge and understanding of technology support: high volume 24x7 mission critical systems
- Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced team members.
